I Feel Supported...

Writing Prompt #3

Identify your support systems here at VAPA, at home, in your communities, online.  To whom/where can you go to for assistance with homework, future planning, arts opportunities, college goals, creative endeavors? How can you fortify these bonds and seek future relationships? Whom can you help? (Pay it forward, Artisans!)

  • I think the best people to ask are your teachers.  It is a good idea to make friends with them because they can help you find a program outside of school, whether it is academic or arts related. They will set you on the right course.
  • I can make an appointment with my counselor.  She can always find a solution.
  • Juniors and seniors helped me.
  • I will help the freshmen as much as I can, so that they can help others.
  • If I ever need help, I ask my friends.
  • Here at VAPA, every student can get help.
  • I should start making a comfortable relationship with one of the teachers.
  • You can get assistance from teachers and counselors.
  • We have counselors, principals, teachers and even custodial staff who can help you.
  • When I need help with my assignments, I go to my teachers.
  • I can strengthen these bonds by talking to these people more and getting help from them.
  • If I needed assistance involving any problems, or was in trouble, the person I would like help or advice from would probably be my advisory teacher.  I would see my advisory teacher because that is the one teacher that does not change through the years you are in high school.  I would know that teacher more, I would be more comfortable trusting that one teacher.
  • Your advisory teacher is also a big help.

Goals

Writing Prompt #2

Think of one goal that you can achieve this coming year and how you can achieve it?

  • One thing I want to achieve this year is getting good grades and actually understanding what is being taught.
  • My goal is to study and not miss a single homework.
  • Get straight A’s and get on the high honor roll.
  • One goal I can achieve this year is to read at least 3 books.
  • One thing that has helped me is having to write journals about the book after reading it.
  • I am going to try to pay as much attention in class and learn the new material.
  • I know I am not good at English but I will do my classwork, and homework and study hard for a test.
  • I will study more often because I never study but at the last minute.
  • Sit in the front.
  • I plan to do all my homework.
  • I plan to ask for help if I need it.
  • I plan to go to tutoring for help on my homework.
  • I have never been able to get straight A’s so I am going to try to do that this year.
  • Keep my grades up and getting all my credits.
  • Participate in class.
  • Pass my classes.
  • Making sure I turn in all assignments.
  • Always do my homework on time.
  • All I have to do is stay focused.
  • I can overcome the CAHSEE.  I do not want to take it again next year.
  • I am trying to get caught up with the classes I failed last year.
  • I will strive towards achieving my goal by staying on top of all my classes and working as hard as I can so that I am able to have that feeling you get when you can accomplish something.
  • I hope that I will be able to reach this goal.  Not only for my family, but mostly for myself…
